Next Generation of Offensive Reactive Materials (Project ORM)

In 2021 the U.S. Army introduced a design concept under Future Combat Systems (FCS): a single, adaptable warhead capable of replacing multiple specialized munitions. As armor technology (composite plates, ERA, APS) advances and threats diversify, the need for a unified, high-performance solution has never been greater.

Project ORM answers that need.

ORM (Amorphous Shaped-Charge Armor-Piercing Warhead) applies Mjolner’s proprietary amorphous-alloy casting expertise to produce a single, highly effective multi-objective warhead that combines enhanced penetration, lethal after-effects, and consistent performance under demanding conditions.

The Mjolner Offensive Reactive Material (ORM) program represents the next generation of warhead technology, it is designed specifically towards Single-Hit Kill (SHK).

 

ORM warhead generates a superior high-velocity jet upon detonation. This results in exceptional penetration against modern armor, including explosive reactive armor (ERA), and delivers hyper-lethality through a devastating combination of extreme blast overpressure and intense thermal effects.

 

Designed for multi-mission lethality against both armored vehicles and fortified positions, ORM warheads offer a simple, drop-in upgrade for existing munitions -from 40mm grenades to 155mm Artillery rounds - significantly enhancing combat lethality and reducing logistical burdens for our warfighter.
