Next Generation of Reactive Materials - Project ORM

Project ORM is Mjolner’s reactive-materials programme focused on advanced shaped-charge and related target-effect applications. It applies our amorphous-alloy casting expertise to liner and reactive-material architectures designed for mission-specific tuning of penetration, perforation behaviour, and terminal effects.

ORM represents a next generation warhead liner technology - a configurable reactive material platform, designed for shaped-charge and related applications where total target effect matters more than penetration alone.

The platform is designed to support mission-specific tuning of density, geometry, explosive pairing, and standoff based on the target set and desired effect.

ORM is a configurable family of reactive materials built around multiple mission variants rather than a single fixed liner concept.

The ORM platform spans anti-armour, bunker and hard-target, compact/UAS, and balanced multi-use configurations, with each variant tuned through material formulation, density, geometry, explosive pairing, and integration architecture to prioritize different target effects.

Across the family, ORM is designed not just for penetration, but for integrated target effect — combining shaped-charge performance with thermal overpressure via internal combustion effects after penetration.

Legacy munitions can be upgraded into ORM-based architectures without requiring a full host redesign. Looking forward, the broader R&D roadmap extends into ORM structural munition bodies, where every gram of the payload is utilized.
