In near-peer conflict, golden hour evacuation is rarely possible.
If your helmet caves your skull in (fatal backface deformation >25mm) - even without penetration - you don’t make it home. RF1 helmets might stop a AP round if you are extremely lucky, but they won’t stop the fatal secondary injuries.

Most Issued helmets make bTBI worse - not better. They trap and amplify blast waves between the skull and shell, increasing the risk of irreversible lifelong brain trauma.
Blast-induced traumatic brain injury (bTBI) doesn’t require a direct hit - it comes from overpressure, compressed gas, and shockwaves. It happens in training and combat: firing a rifle, breaching a door, or taking indirect fire.
These forces shear neurons, shrink brain volume, and cause lasting damage like CTE, which is closely linked to veteran depression and suicide. Our pursuit of the Mk1 blast reduction system began because we’ve seen our brothers suffer from bTBI. Mk1 is built to block, disperse, and isolate blast pressure - protecting the brain before the damage begins.
