NGAM 02 - ARTILLERY

LAR-A

A novel armour material under development at Mjolner. Designed for platforms where areal density is the primary constraint — delivering FSP defeat capability where conventional solutions are not viable.

- SYSTEM OVERVIEW

FSP defeat.
Weight-sensitive
platforms.

LAR-A is being developed to address a gap that conventional armour cannot close: High-V FSP defeat on platforms where the mass budget makes standard solutions unviable. Manned and unmanned aircrafts operating in denied environments currently have no credible armour option. LAR-A is designed to change that.

The material is engineered from the ground up for low areal density FSP defeat. It is a distinct novel material within Mjolner's NGAM family.

What LAR-A
is designed to do.

Threat Class

Fragment-simulating projectile (STANAG 4569 A3/A4 FSP) defeat and STANAG 4569 K2 to 12.7x108mm B32 API.

LAR-A is designed for kinetic energy AP threats and optimised for the fragment defeat requirement on platforms where areal density is critical.

Primary Pairing

LAR-C + LAR-A

Target Platforms

Aviation platforms (rotary and fixed wing), unmanned aerial and ground systems, and very light vehicles where conventional High-V FSP/AP protection adds prohibitive mass.

Installation

Designed for retrofit and new-build integration without modification. Supplied in stand-alone kit. Adhesive, bolt, and rivet installation methods.
